What to Expect
Parishioner Planning for our Outdoor Services
We have missed meeting together and seeing each other face to face. Paul tells the Hebrews to not neglect meeting together so that we can encourage each other (Hebrews 10:25). We have developed two options for worship that will meet your comfort level for meeting face to face.
We will have two worship services on the 5th. The early service is best suited for those who need stricter adherence to mask wearing and social distancing. The second service will offer a more relaxed setting that permits singing and removal of masks but still maintains proper social distancing. Our hope is that one of these two options will allow everyone who does not need to maintain social isolation the opportunity to worship together with brothers and sisters in Christ. Learn more about the precautions being taken and the format for each service here.
The 10:30 service will be livestreamed for anyone who needs to maintain social isolation or who will be out of town.
How it works:
- RSVP by Friday, July 3 for the service you plan to attend.
- Arrive early and park on 3rd Avenue or 68th Street.
- Walk east on 68th Street past the home and garage on the north and use the alley to approach the Olsen’s back yard. Remember to maintain social distancing!
- Ushers will “seat” you.
- Communion will be brought to you by the Celebrant.
- Ushers will dismiss family by family at the end of the service.
What to bring:
- Your mask; this is required for the early service and encouraged for the later service.
- The liturgy (found here) – printed OR download the PDF to your device.
- Word & Song document (found here) – printed OR download the PDF to your device.
- A Bible.
- Lawnchairs or a blanket.
- Hand sanitizer and kleenex.
- Bug spray and/or sunscreen.
- A water bottle.
Please remember to stay at home if you are feeling unwell or showing any symptoms of COVID-19.
About bathrooms
Please use your own bathroom before attending the service! The Olsen’s bathroom will be for emergencies only and anyone using the restroom will wipe down surfaces after use.
In case of rain
If it rains, the service will be delayed a week. An email will be sent on Saturday one with reminders about the service and a notice if we will be holding our service via Zoom because of inclement weather.
We rejoice at the opportunity to see you face to face and to celebrate God’s great and redeeming grace. Please call or email Fr Eirik or Lisa Traylor if you have any questions about attending live worship or about how to best prepare for live worship.
